Ezi-scale Basic Knowledge

Locations

Scales can be setup to only use products from specified Location/Departments. This can be helpful to Limit the Products displayed in the product search and help limit incorrect PLU usage.

Zones

Zones act like store departments, e.g. Deli, Meat, Bakery, Fruit & Veg. Using Scale Zones, and each Ezi-scale can quickly be setup and share information with other scales in the same zone. Preset Key Pages, QuickTickets and Operators Logged in are all shared in each zone.

e.g. 1. If an operator adds a new Preset Key on the Second Page of a machine connected to the “Deli” zone, all ezi-scales in the “Deli” zone will have this Preset Key in the same position.

e.g. 2. If a store has more than one Department with a QuickTicket Machine, the QuickTicket Machines will only operate within that scale zone.

Cassettes

Cassettes change the way ezi-scale operates, they can put the machine into a “Pre-Pack” Mode, Point of Sale Mode, Markdown Mode and other custom mode’s and configurations. Each cassette holds settings for the Label Formats, Machine Printer, Operation Mode, Store Name and Address and other label and Operation adjustments.

Quick Tickets

This is a Customer Queuing system. The ezi-scale can communicate with the QuickTicket Machine in the same zone. This means that scale operators can serve the next ticket in queue from the scale touch screen.
