Add Items to Inventory

Stock Count must be conducted prior to setting items for Automatic Order Cycle.  Items flagged for Automatic Order Cycle will not function correctly if there are no stock count in the system.  Setting the stock count can only be done by conducting a stock take.

 

Some stores conduct a "rolling" stocktake throughout the year or conduct the typical once a year stocktake.  This is the most accurate method as it uses the actual stock and number of items you physically have in your store.

 

If you don't already use it, please follow the complete instructions for Stocktake.  Inventory is a relatively new feature and therefore a new function is now available in the Stocktake module called Set Stock Count.  You must click this function after you have printed your valuation report and prior to exiting out of the current Stocktake file you are using.

 

The Set Stock Count button in the stocktake module will activate three processes:

 

Flag items counted with Allow Inventory

Flag items counted with Allow Auto Order

Set items counted with new Stock Count

pin noteA rolling stocktake means stocktake is conducted several times during the year to maintain accuracy with stock on hand.

 

Your store can choose to stocktake a fraction of your store at a time when starting Inventory and Automatic Order for the first time.  Perhaps start with your Tobacco department first to see the helpful difference it can make to your store.

 

Stocktake Quicksteps for Inventory & Auto order

 

The following Quicksteps apply to section stocktake or rolling stocktake only.

Using the stocktake option in your Symbol/PDE unit, scan unit items and enter item count.

pin tip Please check if an item you are using for stocktake is in multiple locations of your store.  You will need to add the stock count of these aswell.

If you are using Ezi Mobile, this stocktake should now be visible in Ezi Office and skip to step 4b.

Others, please connect your Symbol/PDE

Open the stocktake module and create a new stocktake file with description and date.

a) Click the Save button

b) Click the Use button.

If you have used Ezi Mobile skip to step 7b

Click the PDE input button and fill in any relevant boxes.

Click the PDE read button and set your Symbol/PDE to begin transmission.

a) Click the Finish button when the transmission is complete.

b) Click the RF Process button, press the select all button.

Please check the displayed report and remember to action any necessary items later.

Click the Data Entry tab

Click Set stock count.

In the Set stock count window, click and select Set Inventory & Auto order flags on option

Click Process.  Please wait until Ezi Office has completed your request before exiting out of the Stocktake module.
